Technology advances in picture taking
Recently I went on an outing to the renowned hill station Nainital. The place is rich with outstanding
natural beauty. If you are a true lover of photography then you won't miss the chance to capture the
scenic beauty of the place. Photography is my passion since childhood, and whenever I visit someplace
I try to capture each and every part of the frame.
There are varieties of photography:
Aerial Photography
Architectural
Candid Photography
Fashion Photography
Landscape photography
Night-long exposure
Food-photography
Conceptual/fine art photography
Wildlife Photography
The awesome approach of technology has made a mark in each and every field. Then why photography should lag behind? The cameras are also changing with technology. In fact, they are getting better day by day. The phones with camera and the digital cameras keep improving with better resolution, better color, and a better low light performance. As technology advancement is a continual process the cameras are always changing thus adding new features and improving the old ones. The technology which is appearing in today's world was actually discovered several years back. Given below are some of the most interesting and promising changes that will impact digital camera technology in the near future.
The integral of the camera is the lens.
Here are some of the lenses which you can buy in 2018:
Canon EF 50mmf/1.8 STM Lens: If you are looking for affordable, versatile Canon lens then Canon's EF 50mm f/ 1.8 STM is perfect for you.It goes with full-frame as well as APS-C DSLR cameras having a 50mm focal length with maximum aperture of f/1.8. It has an effective focal length of 80mm on APS- C and 50mm on full frame cameras. All these features make it perfect for both portraits to night time photography.
Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50 mm f/1.8G Lens Auto Focus: Are you a Nikon shooter and want something affordable then Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G is perfect for you. With more or less same features like Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM at a slightly higher point. This is really a solid option if you are a beginner and also intermediate DSLR photographer.
The minimum focus distance is about 1.48ft meaning that you cannot get very close to your subject. Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM: Canon's EF-S, 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS STM is the best you will find in the telephoto lens.
Having a focal length and the highest aperture between 55-250mm and 1:4-5.6, this is absolutely perfect for close-ups having a focusing distance of 2.8 feet.
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116: This is the fastest and sharpest ultra wide lens available. Though having a lack of built-in optical image stabilization, there is rare number of situation where you are going to miss the feature given the f/2.8 aperture and focal length of Tokina.
Given below are some of the most interesting and challenging changes coming to digital camera technology in the near future:
Futuristic Auto-focus: Nowadays you can easily focus on an image before taking a picture. This focus is ideal for providing a better picture. This brings light and color forward or backward in the picture. This helps in providing a better auto-focus just not only before a photo has been taken but also after! Re-evaluate “ Ultra compact”: This type of camera is a type of camera that measures 1 inch or less in thickness.
These type of cameras are awesome as it fits easily in a pant, pocket or purse. The future camera could easily define the “ultra-compact” thus creating cameras which are 0.5 inches in thickness and has a smaller dimension than today's cameras. This prediction really makes sense, as the digital cameras from a decade ago are much larger than the small models of today. The components which are high tech are continually shrinking. With more cameras that incorporate touch screens, the camera's size is always determined by the size of the display screen thus completely removing the other controls or buttons much like a smartphone. Say Farewell to shutter button: The cameras of the future doesn't require a button. The photographers are winking or use a voice command thus telling the camera to record a photo. The camera that is built into a pair of glasses, aims that the camera would be easy too.
This type of camera usually work in a manner that is similar to a hands-free cell, here you can issue commands without the need to push a button. Everlasting battery power: The rechargeable batteries in the digital camera are very powerful, they've ever been allowing at least a few hundred photograph per charge. The camera of the future will incorporate some sort of solar energy cell, this allows the battery either to incorporate some sort of solar energy cell, thus allowing it either to operate from solar power or allowing it to charge the battery using solar cell. There are some questions which you need to answer first, like how much solar cell should we add to the size of the camera. Light field recording: This type of photography involves recording the photo and determining the portion of the photo which you need to focus later.
Dot sight camera: Most photographers make the use of cameras having long zoom lenses and experienced the problem of having a subject moving out of the frame thus shooting over a long distance with the zoom in use. The dot sight is built with pop up the flash unit and gives the SP-100 a unique feature. This type of feature is not available on other consumer level camera. Wonderful facial recognition: Though photography is a digital medium, but the future camera with high technology will add a sense of smell to photograph. The ability that stimulates senses other than vision to photograph is really an interesting idea. A photographer could easily command the camera thus recording the smell of the scene and embedding it with the visual image which it captured. Adding smells to photograph is optional.
You can add smell to photograph of food or field, but adding smells to photograph of monkey house of the zoo is not desirable.
